Kenneth S. Sabean
Founder & Author
Kenneth S. Sabean, born in 1942 in Port Lorne, Nova Scotia, grew up with his parents and 11 siblings. After working in fishing and construction, he found his passion in the kelp industry, dedicating over 30 years to it.
In 1995, Kenneth met Darron, a trusted friend and collaborator, introducing him to the benefits of sea plants. By 2016, Kenneth’s knowledge led him to explore micron gold deposits in slate rock, resulting in a collection of macro photographs showcasing the beauty of microscopic minerals.
In 2018, Kenneth and Darron co-founded Kinsart, offering these images on canvas. Their 2021 collection highlights the natural beauty of Nova Scotia’s shores, reflecting Kenneth’s deep appreciation for the visible and hidden wonders of the world.
Kenneth now resides in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and continues his remarkable story with his wife, Goldie by his side.

Darron R. Hill

In 2018 Darron and Ken formed a company called Kinsart, and they published a book titled “The Fine Art of Minerals.” in 2021, depicting Microminerals. Currently, Darron enjoys working full time in his business, fostering nature naturally with a sustainable resource.

The Fine Art Of Minerals
Kinsart has uncovered a micro-world embedded in the shores of Nova Scotia. Disguised in coastal slate are imperceptible images resembling paintings, works of art, painted by nature using a palette of minerals. Though initially interested in gold, our attentions was drawn to these mesmerizing mineral abstracts, which we have come to value more than the gold we originally sought. The combination of colors resembles images of landscapes, solar systems, animals, spiritual icons and more. Nature provides us with an abundance of amazing findings; all we have to do is look. Each viewer will see something entirely different from the next.
